I love that you and your wife read to one another! I think reading aloud is such a fun way to enjoy a story together! My kids are 12 and 15 and we still read aloud as a family each night before bed. It's really nice to have this point of connection, especially as the kids get older. Perhaps family reading time might be in your future as your little one grows. I'm looking forward to my daughter really getting passionate about reading as I believe this will really open up her eyes to the world around her. As a gradeschooler I remember loving the Boxcar Children series and how excited I was to order more books from the book catalogues that they handed out at school. As for Long Island Compromise, we're about 2/3 done with it and I'll be posting my review in my May reading update in a couple of weeks!
